In this meeting a subject matter expert will provide an update on the changing nomenclature, the definitions of food additives and processing aids and subsequently the consequences for labelling food products.

As the nomenclature of food additives and processing aids may alter overtime, producers of food ingredients need to have a clear understanding on the definitions, their interpretations and consequences on labelling. In order to provide a level playing field and a common understanding on the changing food legislation, IFFI has organized this ‘pop-up’ online event. Subject matter expert Annemieke Tops will update professionals in the industry with working knowledge about this complex issue of food legislation.

In this online session subject matter expert Annemieke Tops of Topconsult will present a ‘White Paper’ on the upcoming nomenclature of food additives and processing aids. Annemieke has collected the latest insights of different IFFI members on the interpretation of food additives and their consequences on the labelling of food products.
Annemieke has a long trackrecord of 22 years in food legislation, working in several positions for Unilever and Mead Johnson in Europe. From 2016 Annemieke was director Regulatory Affairs and Nutrition Science Asia for Mead Johnson. In the end of 2020 she started to become a self employed food regulatory professional and advises food producers on food legislation matters.
The online meeting is for innovation and business development executives in the food (ingredients) industry who wish to be updated with working knowledge on the changing nomenclature of food additives and processing aids. And in particular, to use this knowledge to go forward with strategizing innovation.
